Are you interested in learning more about your military ancestors?
In his program “Fold3 – Discover Your Family’s Military Past,” James Jackson will explore the subscription database available onsite at the Archives of Michigan or from home by subscription. With over 500 million images of military records ranging from the American Revolution to the Persian Gulf War, Fold3 has more than just military records, some even available from home for free.
The Abrams Foundation Family History Seminar will be held in Lansing on July 12-13 and will feature Tina Beaird, MLIS. Brought to you by the Archives of Michigan and the Michigan Genealogical Council, the event’s information, program schedule, and registration page can all be found here: 2019 Abrams Foundation Family History Seminar – Military Records
Jim’s presentation (Session M) is Saturday, July 13, 2:30 – 3:30p. Interested in genealogy and local history since the mid-1970’s, Jim has served as President of the Detroit Society for Genealogical Research, Oakland County Genealogical Society, and Calhoun County Genealogical Society. He has been the index editor of the DSGR Magazine since 1994 and is the Past-Camp Commander for Camp 22 (Marshall, MI) of the Sons of Union Veterans.
We look forward to seeing you here in Lansing next month!
